Becoming a Team Manager

Hello. Progression in Tesco is getting more difficult since the restructure. I am currently on options and at the point of waiting for my 3 month placement. I’ve had discussions with my Store Manager and unfortunately a placement hasn’t come up yet. Problem is, it’s been over a year of waiting. 2 placements have been and gone in my own store. When I questioned it, Management claim they can only hire external for placements. Is that true? Am I being made out to be a fool? Team manager roles are now available nearby. Am I able to apply internally for them, or do I have to have a successful placement behind me?

Unfortunately you do have to do your placement at another store. Once you been signed off you can come back to your home store providing there is a vacancy.
