I recently watched a training video that broke down the expected fill times and facing up into chunks. They’re having a laugh expecting that to work!
The obvious thing that missed is the lack of staff to do that. Saturday and Sunday nights in my store are ridiculously understaffed, and any absences/holidays make it worse.
The funniest thing was expecting the store to look packet perfect at 8.00am; do they not realise the night fill teams finish at 7.00am and dot.com and customers start raiding the shelves at 6.00am? All too often, someone in head office comes up with crazy schemes without once thinking of the practicalities. I used to enjoy working for Tesco, but now it’s a chore, not helped by being paid marginally above minimum wage and expected to do twice as much work these days. Unfortunately age is against me in looking for another job, so I’ll just have to grin and bear it (and keep moaning).

I was thinking the same thing when I had a word with one of my Dairy colleagues even though I am Dotcom, they are expected to fill, tidy and do tills every 2 hours on each department for the majority of staff which starts in my store on the 9th June. They aren’t sure how on earth, they are going to do it with limited staff throughout the store.
