It’s one way for them to cut drivers – it means less money paid in wages. Less overtime required as well. Not sure if it’s also to ensure drivers also work at least a Saturday or Sunday too.

The store I used to work at had all drivers scheduled to work Christmas Eve since 2017 – store manager’s decision. Some people were able to wangle favours.
