Definitely think there be job losses coming with the government increasing business national tax they will need to get the extra money from somewhere and they won’t be wanting to lose it from their profits

Sainsburys have announced there 2025 payrise staff will see an increase from £12 currently to 12.45/ March 25 then 12.60/ Aug25, a 5% increase. Bare in mind the minimum wage is increasing from £11.44 to £12.21 so 0.77p or 6.7%. I feel this is very poor as the pay gets ever nearer the minimum wage. I have no doubt Tesco will do very similar as they tend to copy the rest of the market as opposed to being a market leader in staff wages/welfare. I understand businesses have seen a increase in NI payments but why should staff effectively get the wages cut as a consequence.

Tesco Colleagues will get a bumper payrise as usual whilst the rest of us get one inline with inflation, it’s how it’s been the past few years now. Might as well sit on a till than work in distribution or become a manager as we will soon be earning the same lol

Think they will get rid of nightshift at several stores

When do they usually announce the payrise? Surely any remaining nightshift colleagues will get a rise on their nightshift hourly rate.

Not had an increase in night premium for years think nights will be the next to go after the rise in NI rise in April

We , the workers are always the last to know about the pay rise . Usually read about it on bbc news , The union silence is standard , Tell us nothing , the negotiations will be over , but nothing will be told to us from the toothless union
