What’s going on with this new overtime policy? Is it just a Dotcom thing, or is it happening across all departments nationwide? From what I understand, managers can’t adjust our hours anymore—except for our days off—and now we have to log all our overtime through the app. They’re making people complete their full overtime hours without letting them leave early.

I’ve worked every Tuesday since I re-joined Tesco in 2021, and I never had to record overtime for that day before. But now, suddenly, we have to put it on the app—and the app barely works. It only offers limited shift options like 6-10am, 6-12pm, or 9-2pm on Tuesdays or Saturdays (which I have off), and sometimes it doesn’t give any options at all. It changes every week.

Are they trying to cut down on staffing on certain days to make everyone stick to their base shifts (like 16 hours)? Or is this just a way to frustrate staff so much that people leave Tesco for good or end up being forced to train in different departments?
