The OH report was only created a three weeks ago. Recommendations were followed for a week then seemingly forgotten the week after. I get breathless easily and really start to tire at the end of the night shift and whilst I’m getting better, it’s still an issue. I’ll give it another couple of weeks, then speak to OH again if things don’t improve.
The one thing I will say, they don’t seem to appreciate the stress and fear I feel about it happening again. At all.I’ve been honest in the past few EVM surveys and nothing has changed. Too many people moan about things but won’t take action to change it; they either don’t bother filling in the EVM, or don’t answer honestly when they do.
I’ve answered that way for the past three surveys yet my store always seems to have a 100% satisfaction rating. In my years of working at Tesco I’ve never seen any changes as a result of the EVM surveys, or the in-store forums for that matter.
Even the drivers are at it, complaining that others are getting easier runs and so on. As I said, it’s through the whole store.
It’s been openly admitted that staff hours have been cut because of the National Insurance raise, meaning more work is put onto fewer people. That the lazy so-and-sos aren’t being dealt with is annoying more than a few.
Same in my store, one person on a five night a week contract regularly works six, while some people on two nights struggle to get the overtime they need to make a decent living. Smacks of favouritism.
