All managers currently in with the reps
Tuesday morning – ALL store managers on conference call @ 9.30am
Given what Sainsburys have just done I don’t think we can rule anything out now. The Bakeries could well go and I honestly don’t believe there is a need for Team Support anymore. Grocery/H&B nights moving to Twilights is actually more practical as would a Nights lead even then be needed? and also is a stock/admin manager still needed? as noted Stock Control isn’t part of Schedule to Skills which makes it look like they are going to make it part of the relevant departments daily routines which has been suspected for a while like what they did with Job 14. Admin, Merch, PI and Cash could easily go to Non Food (although why Cash isn’t under front end has always baffled me).
All speculation but all sounds plausible..
One of the things making me believe H&B nights will move to days/twilights is the fact the F&F Shift Leader role is going to change to F&F Home Shift Leader. That makes it sound like Non Food are gaining extra numbers of staff.

Dotcom and main store are always treated as separate pots of money but dotcom is the department where most of the overspend occurs in every store. Why its escapes restructure each year in light of that is baffling
Extras are store specific. Mine has 3 leads, 2 on days 1 nights. 6 line managers on days and 2 on nights. 3 shift leaders, 2 on days & 1 on nights as well as an F&F shift leader and 5 Team Support. We have way too many. I don’t see why Fresh needs two managers while Grocery which covers the same number of area and staff levels has one and Stock/Admin should be under Non Food. Stock & Admin does not need a manager since they took away the Wage Clerks and reduced the Admin assistants role, why they waste a manager wage and bonus on someone who only has 9 staff members is crazy. Every other manager has over 40.
Likewise with Team Support
The twilight TS are just a waste of money. All you need are runners at this time of day
That is without factoring in the 5 Dotcom shift leaders and 3 dotcom managers we have.
Can’t talk for other Extras but if they cut the management in ours and invested that money back into shop floor staffing levels the company might finally get something right.
If stores have been trialing nights on twilights then a full roll out is probably on the cards even if it doesn’t work they will still roll it out.
I’ve been told it’s management related though. That said. If nights is going then that’s two night managers, one lead and a shift leader gone.
Rumours Team Support in Extras also going. Nights in Extras down to just one line manager, an extra Shift Leader being used.

Also heard stock/admin manager going. Stock controllers to be absorbed into relevant departments, Admin assistant and merchandisers to non food manager. Cash office to front end manager.
