Is the night shift thing being rolled out in all Extras because no one in ours has been told anything.
I actually can’t say for sure tbh as nights in ours haven’t been told anything about moving to twilights.
All I know is that our shift leader said 60 hours across the store need to go. The usual fix to that is moving people around in line with the heatmap
are you an extra? if so you probably won’t hear anything until all managers have looked at their heatmaps and determined where they can lose 60 hours from.
I’m hearing now our store, which is an extra, has to lose 60 hours 😮
Our F&F shift lead is being replaced by the return of a full time department manager. I’ve still not heard anything concrete about Stock and Admin manager going yet tho
From Reddit..
^ Sorry to hear that but surely they will give you the chance to apply for it? unless they are putting the compliance manager there?
So it possibly looks like Compliance Manager going, their staff to non food mananger while non food manager loses F&F?
Its not really a surprise if compliance manager is going, like already said in most stores it falls under the non food managers. I wonder if its redundancy or being moved to a new store??
Better picking software sounds really good. Has there been a trial going on for that?
Is that info from today or speculation from previously?
Least it looks like front end is ok for now.
Whats the changes in Extras?
Nothing leaked yet? perhaps its only minor stuff this year then
I can’t see Team Support going unless they are creating a runner role because someone will always have to be in control at the front end, esp in large stores.
Our store only has 3 stock controllers. They could easily be handed over to the relevant department manager they stock take on, likewise with the merch teams, they should be under nights. Stock Manager is the easiest one to ditch if they are restructuring management. Job 14 moving to fresh managers was probably the beginning of the end for stock manager tbh
I’ve always thought it was odd how our front end manager has 68 staff but the stock manager has 7… in terms of balance its not fair really is it.
I think the changes must be management again because there isn’t any floor staff to cut.
Stock and Admin manager role isn’t needed. That position could very easily be absorbed into the Non Food Managers responsibilities. That alone would save the store 40k a year.
My store manager doesn’t think its going to be anything major just a rejigging of hours. So admin going to 3 hours per day, stock control going to 4 hours etc
If thats the case the will obviously just move people around so that they do multiple departments a day. Which is where things have been going anyway, for those that don’t follow the app that is..
The whole point of Shift Leaders was to free up Line Managers from duty so they could focus on admin.
Shift leaders have never done admin. Unless you count EPWs but thats not really admin, its a Duty Manager task.
