We don’t get any annual bonus anymore! It was replaced by 15% discount after pay day.
25/01/2025 at 2:33 pm #283No the 15% replaced the pay day booklet
25/01/2025 at 5:55 pm #284My Extra has 5 Team Support. The reality is we don’t need them. I can see the logic in getting rid and replacing with a shift leader. Then all you need is a few off tills to do the running and savings are made. That seems more obvious if they are wanting to claw back money. Our Stock and Admin manager also does next to nothing, thats another role there is no need for anymore so merging his staff into Non Food just seems sensible.
25/01/2025 at 7:05 pm #285Managers still get an annual bonus.
25/01/2025 at 7:45 pm #286So it looks like Team Support will go?
25/01/2025 at 8:07 pm #287I’m confused with what you guys are saying. Stores should already be running with the management structure mentioned.
The company invested heavily in fixing the mess of the 2023 management restructure last year by brining more managers/ lead managers back into the business.
Stores should have:
1 sm
1 lead
1 trade for small SS or 1/1/1 for each trade area in extras
1 front end
1 operational
A number of SL depending on store size25/01/2025 at 8:21 pm #288Extras are store specific. Mine has 3 leads, 2 on days 1 nights. 6 line managers on days and 2 on nights. 3 shift leaders, 2 on days & 1 on nights as well as an F&F shift leader and 5 Team Support. We have way too many. I don’t see why Fresh needs two managers while Grocery which covers the same number of area and staff levels has one and Stock/Admin should be under Non Food. Stock & Admin does not need a manager since they took away the Wage Clerks and reduced the Admin assistants role, why they waste a manager wage and bonus on someone who only has 9 staff members is crazy. Every other manager has over 40.
Likewise with Team Support
The twilight TS are just a waste of money. All you need are runners at this time of day
That is without factoring in the 5 Dotcom shift leaders and 3 dotcom managers we have.
Can’t talk for other Extras but if they cut the management in ours and invested that money back into shop floor staffing levels the company might finally get something right.
25/01/2025 at 9:38 pm #289My extra has 3 day leads (dotcom/lead trade/ lead gm & services)
1 ambient TM
2 fresh TM
1 GM & FF TM
1 stock & admin TM
1 front end and services manager3 dotcom picking TM
1 driving TMGoing to 4 TM on the shop floor and keeping 4 in dotcom seems bonkers.
25/01/2025 at 9:41 pm #290As for previous comment about ambient and fresh. Fresh is far more complex and faster paced than ambient, and skilled areas like bakery. If it’s a big extra. 1 is not enough for fresh.
25/01/2025 at 9:42 pm #291Dotcom and main store are always treated as separate pots of money but dotcom is the department where most of the overspend occurs in every store. Why its escapes restructure each year in light of that is baffling
25/01/2025 at 9:57 pm #292Yep. It’s crazy. Our store puts all the in experienced new managers/placements in dotcom, years of experience in the shop floor. Yet again, the experience will be lost and people rushed through development without a clue stay.
26/01/2025 at 6:42 am #293There’s a store manager call on Tuesday, so I’m sure we’ll all find out after their call 😵💫
26/01/2025 at 8:22 am #294I wonder if there’s a chance the Bakeries might go.
The past 3 years we have had a fairly good idea of what would be announced but this year nothing has really leaked other than the guess its management but what if it isn’t?
oh an I agree completely about Dotcom!! ours is a shambles. If any department needs a restructure overhaul it is them. That is where all the money is wasted.
26/01/2025 at 9:41 am #295I believe it will be nights that takes the hit.
26/01/2025 at 10:24 am #296Where is BOBMAY when you need him? He will know everything about it. 😂
