As far as I know only employees who started work before 2005 can elect to not work Bank Holidays.

In theory, if you have clocked on at the start of your shift and taken the time and due diligence to do your van checks then your don’t have the opportunity to leave early. In practise, leaving the odd five minute or so early is do-able. Much more than that and you could be pinged by the system and be having a Lets Talk with your manager. Local practise at your place could also play its part – what do the other drivers do?

Complaining about getting others getting easier runs is usually down to confirmation bias of not noticing when they do get the easier run.

My store seems happy enough from where I am looking. But that where is mostly out on the road with only myself and my music to keep me company.

I take it the multiple postings you have made of this is due to a computer problem?

I think the 15 minutes is an informal rule of thumb. After all by the time you have texted/called the customer and then made the delivery it could well be as close to the top of the hour as makes most difference. Of course, it always help to explain to the customer if they appear flustered or not ready that you are a bit early.

I have suggested in the past that the customer should be offered an option for them to be happy to accept early delivery or not which would then appear on the delivery advice notes. Some are always very happy to, a few, a very few are adamantly against (eg if they work from home and tied up in a meeting or appointment).

Back in the day Christmas Eve was used to “tidy up” those deliveries that were missing their turkeys etc. One driver and the team leader in one van.

I am speculating that there were server problems yesterday.

Told by my manager (some time ago) that it is 20% discount from Friday, 13th December through to Thursday, 19th December. The standard four-weekly pay day is Friday of the week before.

Checking in as a long time user of the old VLH.

Will mention this new site in passing as the opportunity presents itself. Not a frequenter of the Reddit site but there are a couple of other places where I hang out with other company employees.
